Anna Pitjara
Anna Pitjara (Petyarre) was born about 1965, and is the daughter of the late Glory Ngarla and the niece of the late Emily Kame Kngwarreye. She was taught to paint under the guidance of Gloria Petyarre. Anna resides at Mulga Bore, an outstation at Utopia, NT. Anna paints the Bush Yam and Bush Yam Seed Dreamings. She also paints images of her mother’s country. Anna’s paintings have been exhibited widely throughout Australia and in France and the USA.
For sale is a 2008 acrylic on canvas, entitled My Mother’s Country and measuring 100 x 80 cms. The painting comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a photo of Anna holding the painting. It is on offer for $1,500.
