Gracie Morton Pwerle

Gracie Morton Pwerle was born on Utopia country some 270 kms north of Alice Springs in c 1956. Her language is Alyawarre. She started her artistic career with the Utopia Women's Batik Group in the 1970s but switched to painting on canvas using acrylic paints in the late 1980s. Gracie's mother is internationally acclaimed artist Myrtle Petyarre who is sister to Gloria, Kathleen, Ada and Violet Petyarre. Gracie's work has been widely displayed and is represented in major collections throughout Australia and in the UK and Germany.
