Jimmy Pike
Jimmy Pike was born in the Great Sandy Desert (WA) in 1939. A stockman in the cattle industry for some 20 years, he began painting at the age of 40 (whilst in prison).
Some images were based on traditional patterns and designs, others were figurative representations of events and observations from his everyday life. Jimmy Pike’s work was widely exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Australia and internationally from 1985 until his death in 2002.
For sale here is an untitled coloured screenprint (ed 73/90), measuring 37.5 x 29.5 cms, signed J Pike lower right. The sale price is $550.
