Mitjili Naparrula commenced painting in 1993 and quickly developed her own distinctive style of simplified design in striking colours.

Michael Reid, in How to Buy and Sell Art (Allen and Unwin, 2004) identifies Mitjili Naparrula as one of the contemporary indigenous artists to "watch out for" (page 79). In addition, Mitjili Naparrula was named one of Australia’s "most collectable" in the January 2004 edition of the prestigious Australian Art Collector.

Offered here is one painting entitled Watiya Tjuta - depicting the roots, trees, leaves, rocks and mountains of her country. It is painted with acrylic, and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and a photo of Mitjili Naparrula holding her painting. The painting measures 198 x 133 cms. The sale price is $3,000.
