Ngoia Pollard Napaltjarri

Ngoia Pollard Napaltjarri was born in Haast's Bluff in about 1940. Ngoia paints her father's country, which is sacred Walpiri territory. The oval shapes in her paintings are iconographic representation of the swamps and lakes near Nyrripi (Talarada). The dots represent the water drying up and the cracks in the ground forming.

In 2004 Ngoia Pollard Napaltjarri was the winner of the Advocate Central Australian Award, and in 2006 was outright winner of the highly prestigious NATSIAA Telstra prize.

This painting of the swamps is in acrylic on linen and measures 120 x 60 cms. It is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and photos of Ngoia painting the picture. The sale price is $1150.
