Walala Tjapaltjarri began painting in 1997, in a minimalist style reminiscent of engravings on weapons, sand paintings and ritual body painting. In his art he depicts the Tingari Cycle, a series of sacred and secret mythological ceremonies describing the epic journeys of Ancestors in the Tjukurrpa (Dreamtime).

Walala Tjapaltjarri’s work has been exhibited widely throughout Australia, and in USA, UK and France. His paintings are also included in major collections in Houston, Seattle and Santa Monica.

On offer is a typical Walala Tjapaltjarri painting, in acrylic on linen, entitled Tingari Dreaming. It measures 97 x 97 cms and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and a photo of Walala Tjapaltjarri holding the painting. The sale price is $2,500.
