Basil Hadley Basil Hadley was born in London in 1940 and studied at Ealing College of Art before arriving in Australia in 1965. His individualistic figurative and non-figurative paintings have been described as "refusing to bow to fad, fashions or the dictates of art theory". Basil exhibited in many international and Australian art and print exhibitions in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne, and was awarded numerous art prizes throughout Australia. His work is represented in all State and many regional galleries. Basil Hadley died in Adelaide in 2006. On offer are three paintings. The first is an oil on canvas, entitled Portrait of a Green Hill, signed and dated 1972 (also on reverse). Measuring 84 x 112 cms, it is for sale at $2,000. The second is a watercolour by Basil Hadley – entitled Dark Hill – signed and dated (1973). Measuring 34 x 52 cms, it is well priced at $900. The third work on offer is an oil on canvas by Basil Hadley – entitled Night Influence – signed and dated (1976). Measuring 71 x 91 cms, it is well priced at $1,500.
