Tom Gleghorn Born in Thornley, England in 1925, Tom Gleghorn arrived in Newcastle, NSW in 1928. With no formal training but with some instruction from William Dobell, he began painting at the age of 24, exhibiting paintings in Sydney from 1954 onwards. Since then he has won over 30 major, as well as many smaller, art awards, and has also held about 34 solo exhibitions. Gleghorn's works are represented in the National Gallery of Australia, most state and many regional galleries; and many Australian and international corporate collections. On sale here is a typical Gleghorn painting from 1984, entitled Boundary Rider Hill, Andamooka. The sale price is $1,500.
