Hossein Valamanesh Hossein Valamanesh was born in Iran in 1949 and graduated from the School of Fine Art in Tehran in 1970. He immigrated to Australia in 1973 and in 1975 he commenced further studies at the South Australian School of Art. A monograph on his work, written by Paul Carter, was published in 1996 by Art & Australia and a major survey of his work was held at the Art Gallery of South Australia in 2001. A survey of his more recent works was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, February 2002.
Hossein Valamanesh was included in the Australian Art Collector’s list of the 50 Most Collectable Artists in 1999, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2010.
