Tim Storrier

Tim Storrier was born in Sydney in 1949 and spent his early childhood on the family sheep station at Umagarlee, near Wellington New South Wales. Storrier studied at the National Art School from 1967 to 1969 and in the 1970’s made several expeditions to outback Australia. The vast outback panoramas are at the heart of his fascination with distance and space.

Tim Storrier won the Sulman Prize in 1968 and in 1984. His work appears in major collections both here and overseas including the National Gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, the Louvre Museum in Paris, the National and Tate Galleries in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York. He was awarded an AM for services to art in Australia in 1994. Tim Storrier was included in the Australian Art Collector’s list of the 50 Most Collectable Artists in 1999 and 2009.

For sale is a 1979 etching (2/60) entitled Late Afternoon, signed and dated, and measuring 49.5 x 69 cms. The sale price is $600.
