Constance Stokes A founding member of the Melbourne Contemporary Artists group in 1951, Constance Stokes' (1906-91) work has featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Australia and abroad. A major retrospective of her work was held at the National Gallery of Victoria in 1993. Represented in National Gallery of Australia and most Australian state and regional galleries. On offer here is one signature painting in Indian ink and wash entitled Portrait of a Seated Woman. It is signed lower right, and measures 33 x 23.5 cms. It is priced at $1,200. |
