Kathleen Petyarre's art directly refers to her country and her Dreamings. Her art is minimalist, done in a layering technique with very intricate dotting. Like her younger sister Gloria Petyarre, Kathleen has been nominated by the prestigious journal, Australian Art Collector, as among the 50 most collectable artists in Australia - in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. Kathleen’s work has been exhibited and collected all over the world. In 1996 she was the winner of the 13th Telstra NATSIAA, and a finalist in 1998. A book about her art, Genius of Place, was published in 2001.

For sale is a signature Kathleen Petyarre painting entitled Mountain Devil Lizard. The work is in synthetic polymer paint on linen, measures 90 x 90 cms, and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and a photo of Kathleen Petyarre holding the painting. The sale price is $5,000.
